In addition to brands like Reebok and Skechers, Salomon also makes some of the best running shoes for flat feet. The brand may not be as well known, but they are quickly becoming more popular among runners because of how great their shoes fit.

If you are a fan of trail running like I am, I highly recommend giving Salomon running shoes a try. They have several options for trail runners that are high quality and durable! Salomon also has running shoes for pavement, which I think are great for both running and cross training. If you have flat feet, you shouldn’t have a problem wearing these – no need for additional inserts!

Here are my 5 favorite Salomon running shoes for flat feet, and I hope you find a pair to get you out on the trails or on the road!

Salomon Women’s X-Mission 3 W Trail Running Shoe

If you are in the market for some trail running shoes that can also work on pavement, the X-Mission 3 shoe is a great fit! It’s slightly more flexible than a traditional trail running shoe, but still has plenty of support for your low arches. They also fit slightly wide, so even if you usually wear a wide width shoe to accommodate your flat feet, these will still fit well!

While I’m not usually a big fan of quick-lace shoes, these are tight and lock in place well to prevent slipping while running. I also like that these come in several wild colors – you can buy some fun shoes that will stand out for sure!

Pros:

  • Wide toe box
  • Quick-lace with locking feature
  • Good on trails and pavement

Cons:

  • No wide width available
  • Not great for narrow feet
  • Shallow traction nubs

Salomon Women’s Speedcross 4 W Trail Runner

The X-Mission 3 shoes look a bit more like a hiking boot, but the Speedcross 4 has a lower ankle profile. They look a bit more like traditional running shoes, and come in 16 – yes, 16 – colors to choose from!

Salomon designed these trail running shoes specifically for soft terrain like grass and mud. They look a lot like soccer cleats, and I think they will make a great soccer practice shoe as well as a trail runner! They have plenty of support and a roomy toe box, both of which are great for people with low arches or flat feet.

Pros:

  • 16 colors to choose from
  • Lots of grip for loose/soft terrain
  • Quick-laces that lock in place

Cons:

  • Expensive
  • Not much ankle support

Salomon Women’s X Scream 3D Running Shoe

It’s rare to find a “hybrid” shoe that can work on both pavement and trails, so if you want a shoe that can do both, try these for sure! They are lightweight and cushioned for pavement running, and they have the grip suitable for trails and wet pavement.

What I like most about these shoes is that you can easily run on just about any surface without trouble. Instead of buying separate pairs of pavement and trail running shoes, you can save a lot of money and just get one pair!

Pros:

  • Hybrid pavement & trail shoe
  • Quick-laces
  • Good for running, hiking, and power-walking

Cons:

  • Can be expensive
  • No wide width; fit narrow
  • Not for work/standing

Salomon Women’s Sonic Aero W Running Shoe

If you are looking for a traditional running shoe, look no further! The Sonic Aero shoe is a great version of a standard running shoe. They are lightweight, fit like a glove, and include a thick enough insole for flat feet / low arches.

These are also one of the cheaper options for running shoes, so if you’re a short-distance runner or beginner, these will be great to get you started. People also seem to like wearing these shoes for Zumba and cross-training, so you can take them wherever your fitness goals take you!

The only major design difference between these and the other shoes we’ve talked about is the laces! Instead of the locking “quick lace,” these just have regular laces like other running shoes. Not a major issue – but if you like the quick laces that lock up, you might want to try another shoe.

Pros:

  • Lightweight
  • Affordable
  • Thick Insole

Cons:

  • Not good for distance running
  • Fit snug/narrow on some

Salomon Women’s Sense Colors Casual Shoe

Looking for a casual shoe that can handle short runs, errands, and a workout class or two? Salomon’s casual shoe totally fits the bill! These are simple, lightweight sneakers without a lot of the bells and whistles of the other shoes. They are great for light workouts, walking, or short running.

I like that these seem to fit a bit roomier than other shoes, so if you have wide feet or low arches, you should like the fit. They are a great all-around shoe for everyday activities. You can wear them for your morning job, then off to run errands without any issues!

Pros:

  • Great for light exercise
  • Comfortable; casual design
  • Traditional laces

Cons:

  • Not good for trail running
  • Fit too wide for some feet
  • Too casual for heavy lifting/running

So Who Is Salomon Anyway?

According to the Salomon website, they have been making ski gear in the French Alps since 1947. They are the authority on ski boots and gear for both professional and amateur skiers all over the world. If you’ve ever snapped your foot into a ski or snowboard, you have Salomon to thank for that – they invented the snap-in ski boot!

They started making hiking shoes in 2001, and have since expanded to include mountain climbing shoes, trail running shoes and pavement running shoes. If you are a lover of the outdoors, odds are you have already heard of them.

However, they have only recently started getting attention for their running shoes. Their shoes are a bit more expensive than other popular brands, but for good reasons. The shoes are high quality, durable, and made specifically to handle the elements.

Conclusion

Running with flat feet used to be a pain – literally! Now there are many options for running shoes for flat feet that will encourage you to get outside and rack up some miles. Salomon running shoes are a brand that’s well loved, and created for those who love the outdoors. If you like running on pavement or trails…or both…they have a shoe for your needs. So try out Salomon running shoes for a sturdy, comfortable run!
